Cables Britain Limited ( CBL ) has been commended by CDP for the action it is taking to reduce emissions and mitigate the risks of climate change.
CBL is featured in CDP s Supplier Climate Performance Leadership Index (SCPLI). The SCPLI highlights those companies within CDP s supply chain program that have demonstrated a strong approach to climate strategy and emissions reduction in their CDP responses. This program collects information on behalf of 64 multinational companies with combined annual spend of almost US $1.15trillion.
This index, compiled by FirstCarbon Solutions (FCS) on behalf of CDP, provides an evaluation tool for supply chain members and participating suppliers. In its pilot year we have 80 companies from the supply chain program represented in this year s SCPLI, based on analysis of the 2868 responses to CDP s 2013 supply chain questionnaire.
Michael Heath, Managing Director of CBL commented:
We are delighted to be identified as a leader on climate change action and achieve a position on the SCPLI as a new entrant. We understand to build a sustainable business we need to minimise our environmental impact from our operations, create more sustainable products and services and work closely with our suppliers and customers to inspire them to take action to protect the environment too.
Paul Simpson, chief executive officer of CDP, commented:

It is the need of CBL to offer best quality, excellently priced, packaged, electrical and fibre optic cables delivered on time. Ensuring we partner with our suppliers and customers to provide a solid chain of supply.
The basis of this – being honesty, integrity, performance and commitment.
CBL has been established since March 1990 and now has a major track record of quality cable supply generally in three major industrial sectors power generation, fire/heat Detection, and digital cables. We have researched each market sector individually discussing with all three major approval bodies in that sector along with the defined major installers so we are confident in offering the best cable solution for that environment. These findings then discussed with our main manufacturing partners. Thus creating a complete chain of design, standardised quality and supply. All cables are held in stock at one large purpose designed warehouse based in the West Midlands, England.
Qualified, respectful and hardworking staff ensures the companys vision is put into practice. Honesty and integrity provide the back bone of our business relationships.
Year on year growth provides the proof that the market place agrees with our mission statement.
